Projects
Caracol projects involve young people in the designing, delivering and evaluating all their activities. Through 'learning by doing', methodology youth coordinators gain valuable experience as peer educators, community workers, administrators, and communicators. Taking on important responsibilities strengthens their self-esteem, builds their confidence and contributes to long-term community development.
At Caracol we have adopted the Arts as our tool box for youth and community development, and our programmes includes everything from photography, painting, stilt-walking and theatre to poetry and face painting. The tool box grows with regular visits from experienced facilitators and artists. Our aim is to form creative individuals with skills to work in teams for the benefit of themselves, their peers and their communities.
Project activities include arts workshops for children and youth people, outreach workshops for nearby communities, international exchange with similar groups in the region, training in project management and public performance.
Social values promoted by Caracol's include respect, equality, valuing heritage & culture, honesty, love and peace.
